Aaron Phangiso free to play again after bowling action cleared



Left-arm spinner Aaron Phangiso has been cleared to return to bowling after endeavor a re-test of his action at an ICC accredited testing centre on the University of Pretoria.

With the testing centre noting an enchancment in his action, the SA20 League’s unbiased panel confirmed on Tuesday they’d lifted the suspension beforehand imposed upon the previous Proteas participant.

After being reported throughout the latest SA20 league, Phangiso had undergone bowling action remodelling and remedial work with the assist of Cricket South Africa (CSA) head of excessive efficiency Vincent Barnes.

The unbiased evaluation report on his bowling action was carried out by Dr Helen Bayne and her group on 20 March and the findings had been introduced to the unbiased panel on 25 March.

‘Professional’ method

“SA20 wishes to thank all parties – CSA, the South Africa Cricketers’ Association, Northerns Cricket, JSK, the independent expert panel and Dr Bayne – for the professional manner in which the matter was handled and for the resources contributed,” league organisers stated in a press release.

The unbiased panel which cleared Phangiso was made up of Zama Ndamane, Gerrie Pienaar, Russell Domingo (within the place of Barnes) and Vernon Philander.
