Alonso claims he should have won a race last season

Fernando Alonso believes he should have won a race after a very profitable yr at Aston Martin this previous season.

The 42-year-old Formula One two-time champion had a shot at profitable each the Monaco and Dutch Grands Prix within the season passed by.

Alonso joined Aston Martin from Alpine over the winter and his transfer coincided with a leap up the pecking order from the Silverstone outfit, whose AMR23 emerged as second-best to Red Bull within the yr’s early races.

The veteran driver believes it was attainable for him to win a race this yr.

“I feel it was attainable.

“Probably Monaco was the closest, with a tyre call change or something. Maybe Zandvoort if we were in a different position in that restart or something,” stated Alonso.

“We probably had opportunities [to win] here and there, and yes, I believe that we deserve it more than anyone else this year.”

Alonso completed fourth within the drivers championship and it was for the primary time in 10 years that the Spaniard completed high 4 on the finish of the season.

For subsequent yr, Alonso believes the Aston Martin automotive should give attention to straight line pace.
