Australian former world champion cyclist Rohan Dennis appeared in court on Wednesday after being charged following the highway death of his Olympian spouse.

Melissa Hoskins, a retired monitor cyclist who represented Australia on the 2012 and 2016 Olympics, died in an Adelaide hospital in late December from critical accidents.
The bailed Dennis, 33, made no plea when he confronted Adelaide Magistrates Court, court paperwork confirmed.
The Justice of the Peace adjourned Dennis’s case till August 6 to permit the prosecution to organize its transient and to find out what expenses to press, the court papers stated.
Prosecutors had requested for time to finish a reconstruction of the occasion, Australian media stated.

Following his spouse’s death, police had charged Dennis with “causing death by dangerous driving” and “driving without due care and endangering life”.
Hoskins, 32 on the time of her death, rode in the Australian group that received the group pursuit occasion on the 2015 Track Cycling World Championships in France.
