‘Baby AB’ excited to make Proteas debut

Dewald Brevis is keen to make his debut as Proteas tackle Australia later this month.

Given the nickname ‘Baby AB’, Brevis has turn out to be a family identify in SA cricket since he broke into the scene on the U19 World Cup in January 2022.

The Proteas play three T20Is in opposition to Australia at Kingsmead in Durban on 30 August adopted by 5 One Day Internationals.

The Titans man has drawn comparisons with former Proteas batsman AB de Villiers due to their related batting stance.

“I must say I am so excited because it’s going to be proper heat and lots of fighting so I can’t wait for that,” Brevis advised reporters.

“I all the time prefer it so I can’t wait to go on the market and simply run straight into them, give your greatest.

“It’s going to be exciting because they are one of the top cricketing nations so it’s going to be good cricket and hard cricket,” Brevis.

Brevis says it has been a dream come true to be referred to as to the nationwide workforce.

“These last few days because a dream has come true for me,” he added. “From a very young age, I’ve wanted to be part of this amazing set-up of the Proteas. It’s been an honour and it’s been wonderful to live my dream and to spend time with the team. Couldn’t have asked for anything better,” he mentioned.
