South Africa’s Minister of Police Bheki Cele was one of many excessive profile attendees at 2023 World Cup ultimate in France and has now admitted that his trip was partly-state funded despite the fact that it was not on official work tour.

The Springboks edged the All Blacks 12-11 within the 2023 Rugby World Cup ultimate in Paris and the historic moments was watched reside contained in the Stade de France Stadium by a number of high-ranking officers from South Africa’s cupboard.
Bheki Cele joined the likes of President Cyril Ramaphosa, Minister of Sport Zizi Kodwa, Minister of Justice and Correctional Services Ronald Lamola and former minister and now ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula in attendance on the match.
As reported by Eye Witness News (EWN), Bheki has revealed that the trip for each him and his assistant was budgeted for.
He stated the Police Ministry spent simply over R33,000 on his journey prices, however that the remainder of his trip was sponsored by a personal donor which he reported in his annual declaration to Parliament.
However, as a result of he was travelling in his official capability as a Minister, his assistant wanted to accompany him to the World Cup and that’s the place the general public backlash stems from.
According to the EWN report, over R450,000 — straight from the state’s coffers — was spent on Bheki Cele’s govt assistant’s travelling and lodging in France.
