Carlos Sainz to miss the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, Oliver Bearman takes over his seat

Carlos Sainz will miss the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix after he was identified with appendicitis with Ferrari reserve driver Oliver Bearman set to change the Spaniard in Jeddah.

The Madrid-born race driver felt unwell in the build-up to the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, and he was pressured to miss the media day on Wednesday. However, he may get better for Thursday’s opening day to participate in the two opening follow periods.

Although Sainz hoped to get better for qualifying day, Ferrari have introduced that the two-time grand prix winner has been identified with appendicitis and would require surgical procedure.

Ferrari’s assertion learn: “Carlos Sainz has been identified with appendicitis and would require surgical procedure. As from FP3 and for the remainder of this weekend, he can be changed by reserve driver Oliver Bearman. Oliver will subsequently take no additional half on this spherical of the F2 Championship.

“The Ferrari family wishes Carlos a speedy recovery.”

Oliver Bearman will take over Sainz’s seat to race alongside Charles Leclerc. The British driver is at the moment competing in the 2024 FIA Formula 2 Championship for Prema Racing, finishing his second 12 months in the collection.
