Chiefs assistant confirms Zwane’s eye injury after attack

KAIZER CHIEFS FANS ATTACK ARTHUR ZWANE

As beforehand reported by The South African on Saturday, the Amakhosi head coach was attacked on the face with a thrown object after dropping 1-0 to SuperSport United on Saturday in Rustenburg.

According to MTNFC reporter Mark Gleeson, Zwane was hit by a flying bottle and lower beneath the eye earlier than receiving medical therapy.

“Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane was hit by a flying bottle and cut underneath the eye amid ugly scenes at the end of the loss to SuperSport United at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace in the DStv Premiership on Saturday,” Gleeson reported.

“Zwane and his gamers have been subjected to a barrage of missiles from indignant supporters after they misplaced 1-0, ending any hope they could have of ending within the prime three and reserving a spot in African membership competitors subsequent season.

“Zwane wanted therapy after the sport and missed the compulsory post-match press convention.

“He was hit as he entered the tunnel heading towards the change-room where supporters hung overhead, and Zwane and his players were easy targets for those throwing objects at them. ASSISTANT COACH DILLAN SHEPPARD CONFIRMS THE INCIDENT

Meanwhile, Zwane’s assistant Sheppard has confirmed the Rustenburg terror. According to the previous left-winger, Zwane

“Unfortunately he picked up a bit of an injury to his eye,” Sheppard advised Mahlatse Mphahele.

“I don’t know how it happened in the incident, I just saw him now, putting ice on his eye. I hope to find out the details when I get back to the changing room,” he added.
