Former Proteas girls’s cricket captain Dané van Niekerk has confirmed her retirement from international cricket.
The 29-year-old hinted on the transfer on the weekend, however Cricket South Africa on Thursday launched a press release confirming the choice.
Van Niekerk performed for the Proteas for 14 years. She represented South Africa on 194 events, together with 107 One-Day Internationals (ODI), 86 T20 Internationals (T20Is) and a single Test match in opposition to India in 2014.
