Darvin Ham reacts to big game by D’Angelo Russell

D’Angelo Russell returned to motion with a big game for the Lakers. The 27-year-old level guard scored 28 factors, grabbed 5 rebounds and dished out 9 assists because the Purple and Gold defeated the Raptors (122-112).

Lakers head coach Darvin Ham talked about Russell’s efficiency in the course of the postgame press convention.

“They play so well off each other. They take turns handling the ball – three of those guys D-Lo, Dennis, Austin,” he stated. “You put them out there with A or whether it’s Vando, or Wenyen, or Rui, whoever. We just figure the rest out.

“Those are pivotal moments as you mentioned. End of the half, end of the game and eve before then those guys starting the run, getting us back in it. We were really flat for most of that third quarter but really righted the ship in the fourth and was able to run away with it a little bit.”

“I thought [the partnership between Russell and Schroder] was great,” Ham added. “I like staging them with one of them out there at a time and then when it calls for it to get them out there together. I think that they both are highly competitive, highly capable. You saw the shooting display that D-Lo put on today. That’s why he’s here.”

This season Russell is averaging 17.6 factors, 3.1 rebounds and 6.1 assists in 32.4 minutes per game.
