Lizaad Williams and Andile Phehlukwayo have been referred to as as much as the 15-man Proteas squad.
South Africa have been hit by a double blow forward of the Cricket World Cup, with quick bowler Anrich Nortje and all-rounder Sisanda Magala being ruled out of subsequent month’s showpiece in India.
Nortje had a suspected stress fracture in his decrease again, an harm he picked up within the second ODI in opposition to Australia earlier this month, Cricket South Africa (CSA) confirmed in an announcement on Thursday.

Nortje and Magala have been changed by seamer Lizaad Williams and all-rounder Andile Phehlukwayo within the 15-man Proteas squad.
“It’s hugely disappointing for Anrich and Sisanda to be missing out on the 50-over World Cup,” stated Proteas coach Rob Walter.
“Both are high quality gamers that add immense worth to the Proteas. We sympathize of their omission and will proceed to offer all the mandatory assist as they work in direction of their return to aggressive motion.

“This provides an opportunity for Andile and Lizaad on the global stage. Both players have been part of our winter programs, as well as having represented South Africa in the recent white-ball tour against Australia,” he added.

The Proteas squad will depart for India on Saturday, and they’ll play their first World Cup match in opposition to Sri Lanka in Delhi on 7 October.
