ESPN and TNT are mulling NBA deals with fewer games per season

ESPN and TNT are reportedly exploring media rights deals with the NBA that contain smaller packages of games per season, in accordance with sources cited by the Wall Street Journal.

This association would allow the league’s fundamental long-term companions to proceed with extra budget-friendly annual commitments, whereas concurrently offering the NBA the chance to craft a package deal tailor-made for a streaming service.

Notably, Amazon and Apple have already proven curiosity in bidding for a package deal with the NBA.

“They’re benefitting from the fact that there are new entrants who look to want to play,” stated Jonathan Miller, former NBA government and chief government of Integrated Media, which makes a speciality of digital media investments.
