Former Proteas all-rounder Lance Klusener will be named as South Africa’s new interim One-Day International (ODI) coach.

Unnamed sources confirmed the information to The South African web site on Friday, 4 November.
The emptiness as Proteas ODI coach follows on account of Mark Boucher’s determination in September to give up as nationwide coach following the completion of the continuing T20 World Cup.
Boucher was named as the brand new Mumbai Indians Indian Premier League (IPL) coach shortly after his announcement to step down from the South Africa job.

On Thursday it was confirmed by Cricket South Africa (CSA) that Malibongwe Maketa would be the brand new interim Proteas Test coach.
Maketa, who’s at the moment the South Africa ‘A’ coach and National Academy Lead, will take cost of the squad for his or her three-Test sequence towards Australia in December 2022 and January 2023.
Lance Klusener performed 171 ODIs for South Africa
At the time of publishing there was no indication as to who might take over as T20 coach.
Boucher was nationwide coach for all three codecs of the sport.

Meanwhile, as reported beforehand by The South African web site, Klusener stepped down from his position as Zimbabwe batting coach final month, simply two weeks forward of the beginning of their T20 World Cup marketing campaign in Australia.

Klusener had re-joined Zimbabwe’s teaching workers in March this 12 months after beforehand serving as their batting coach between 2016 and 2018.

Klusener, now 51, performed 49 Tests and 171 ODIs for South Africa throughout his profession.
