Formula One earlier revealed a brand new addition to its present construction with the all-female driver class, referred to as the F1 Academy set to make its debut in 2023.
The all-female collection that goals to develop and put together younger ladies drivers to progress to the highest ranges of competitors will include five separate teams, every one in all which can be run by present F2 or F3 constructors.
Each workforce will enter three vehicles to make up a 15-car grid. The first season can be made up of seven occasions although with every occasion being comprised of three separate races. There may even be 15 days of official testing on prime of the 21 race calendar.
“Everyone should have the opportunity to follow their dreams and achieve their potential and Formula 1 wants to ensure we are doing everything we can to create greater diversity and routes into this incredible sport,” mentioned Formula 1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali.
Formula One has confirmed the five teams that may compete in the inaugural 12 months ART Grand Prix, Campos Racing, Carlin, MP Motorsport and PREMA Racing.
The five teams all have spectacular pedigrees in a number of junior classes. Last season, ART Grand Prix took Victor Martins to the Formula 3 crown; PREMA Racing turned F3 Team Champions; MP Motorsport secured each Driver and Teams Championships in Formula 2 with Felipe Drugovich (since elevated to F1 as Aston Martin’s reserve driver); Carlin ending second in the F2 Teams’ Championship with Logan Sargeant, who’s becoming a member of the F1 grid subsequent season with Williams, and Campos Racing reigned supreme in Spanish F4 in 2022.

Commenting on the announcement, Domenicali added: “It is thrilling to have the ability to announce the five teams that can be racing in the F1 Academy for subsequent 12 months and who can be offering this unbelievable alternative to the younger and proficient ladies to start their journey into aggressive motorsport.
“We believe it is important that everyone has the chance to follow their ambitions and get the support and guidance needed to progress and excel. The F1 Academy is an important part of our plan to increase diversity and representation in motorsport and we are looking forward to the first season in 2023 and stay tuned for more news in this area.”
Bruno Michel, General Manager of the F1 Academy concluded: “I’m very happy to disclose the five teams entering the F1 Academy for the subsequent three-year cycle, ranging from 2023. We know them very effectively and we’ve got been collaborating with every one for a few years.
