Former Kaizer Chiefs striker eager to win his first trophy

Former Kaizer Chiefs Samir Nurkovic has his sights set on lifting his first ever trophy within the South African top-flight soccer.

His workforce TS Galaxy tackle Stellenbosch within the Carling Knockout closing on Saturday.

The 31-year-old has had an excellent begin to the season since transferring to TS Galaxy earlier than the beginning of the present season.

Ex-Kaizer Chiefs wanting to finish his trophy drought

Kokota Piano arrived to South Africa in 2019 scoring 12 targets in 20 appearances within the DStv Premiership. His subsequent two seasons at Chiefs had been unsuccessful and the Serbian striker ultimately left the Soweto giants on the finish of the 2021/22 season.

“I have never achieved something like that before [winning a trophy] in South Africa, but I am also not putting myself under pressure that I must win a trophy,” Nurkovic was quoted on Sunday World.

“That is as a result of it’s necessary to keep firmly grounded and to carry on working arduous, push ourselves to the utmost and simply do what the coach requires from us.

“If winning the competition is meant to be, then it will be. What is important for us is to put in the hard work and everything else will follow,” he stated.

The former Chiefs man has been coming from the bench to assist his workforce and could possibly be in rivalry for a spot within the beginning 11 when Galaxy play Stellenboch FC.
