Gaviria claims first victory for Movistar at the Vuelta a San Juan
The fourth stage of the Vuelta a San Juan completed with a diminished group dash gained by Fernando Gaviria.
In Barreal, the Colombian was the quickest in the dash of a significantly thinned group. He beat Peter Sagan (TotalEnergies) and Filippo Ganna (INEOS Grenadiers), who tried to shock quick males with a late assault. Gaviria can also be the new chief of the Argentinian race.
“This team is like a big family and the way they have welcomed me is incredible, from the first camp in Pamplona in October,” mentioned Gaviria. “That makes me very happy and makes me give a little more of myself.”
“Tomorrow we’ll go to the pool and rest,” Gaviria grinned. “Then I’ll be riding tranquillo up Colorado.”
Tomorrow is a relaxation day in San Juan, with the race set to proceed on Friday with the queen stage.
