Germany midfielder out of Euros camp with illness days before opener

Germany midfielder Aleksandar Pavlović stayed away from the group’s coaching camp Monday with illness, 4 days before the host nation kicks off Euro 2024 towards Scotland (Friday at 3 p.m. ET on FOX).

The German soccer federation mentioned Pavlović was the one one of the 26-player squad to not return as scheduled for Monday coaching from a free weekend following Friday’s 2-1 friendly win over Greece.

The federation mentioned he “did not travel on Monday for the time being due to an infection,” with out giving additional particulars or any timeline for when Pavlović is predicted to hitch the group.

The 20-year-old Pavlovic had a breakout season for Bayern Munich and was one of the few vibrant spots in a uncommon trophyless marketing campaign for his membership. It’s not the primary time illness has interfered with his nationwide group plans.

Pavlović was first referred to as up by Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann in March however could not play as a result of of tonsillitis. He ultimately made his worldwide debut final week in a 0-0 draw with Ukraine.
