Ivor Robson, who served as the official starter at The Open for 4 a long time, has passed away.
He was 83.

Robson’s first Open was at Carnoustie in 1975, with the final at St Andrews forward of his retirement in 2015.
Ivor Robson, who lived in Moffat, Scotland, additionally acted as the DP World Tour’s official starter at programs round the world along with his ‘on the tee’ message.

“He was fashionable and effectively revered amongst all golfers who performed in The Open and I do know that they’ll share in our unhappiness at this information.
“On behalf of all of us at The R&A, I would like to convey our heartfelt condolences to his wife of 61 years, Lesley, and the Robson family.”
