Guenther Steiner leaves Haas, charismatic Italian replaced

Haas has opted to not renew the contract of crew principal Guenther Steiner after poor outcomes and replaced him with Ayao Komatsu.

“MoneyGram Haas F1 Team has appointed Ayao Komatsu as its new Team Principal with Guenther Steiner departing the organization,” the crew mentioned.

According to the Guardian, Steiner’s contract was not renewed by the crew who has a manufacturing unit in Banbury, Oxfordshire, England.

Steiner had overseen the crew because it completed eighth and tenth within the constructors’ championships in 2022 and 2023. Finishing final within the championship final yr proved to be the final straw for crew proprietor Gene Haas who determined to chop Steiner’s affiliation with the crew.

“It was clear we needed to improve our on-track performances,” Haas mentioned. “We have had success but we need to be consistent in delivering results that help us reach our wider goals as an organisation.”
