Hannes Strydom the FIFTH Springbok 1995 Rugby World Cup winner to die

Former Springbok lock Hannes Strydom tragically died in a automotive accident on Sunday night at the age of 58.

Strydom, who was born on 13 July 1965, performed in 21 Tests and 10 non-Tests between 1993 and 1997.

He helped the Springboks elevate the Webb Ellis Cup for the first time in 1995 when Mzansi hosted the Rugby World Cup.

After his taking part in days, Hannes Strydom was a profitable businessman who owned a series of pharmacies.

He is the fifth member of the 1995 Springbok squad to have handed away, after Ruben Kruger, Joost van der Westhuizen, Chester Williams and James Small.

Kruger died in 2010 aged simply 39, whereas Van der Westhuizen handed away in 2017 aged 45.

Wingers Williams and Small each died in 2019, aged 49 and 50, respectively.

In addition, Kitch Christie, coach of the 1995 Springboks, has additionally handed away.

Christie died in 1998 at the age of 58.
