Hatton opens up on Joburg armed robbery

English golf star Tyrrell Hatton has shared his recollections of a robbery whereas taking part in beginner golf in Johannesburg, South Africa.

In speaking to the DailyMail, the PGA TOUR star was frank concerning the incident which occurred in 2015.

Hatton opens up

It begins with Hatton noticing a crimson golf Volkswagen GTi slowing in entrance of the match bus he was travelling on.

“Two guys get out and suddenly there is a gun pointed at the driver. I was on my phone at the time and my first reaction was to slide it under my lap so they wouldn’t see it,” stated Hatton.

“One of the blokes goes spherical to the left and factors a gun at my supervisor and the opposite one involves me and pushes a gun towards my chest.

“I didn’t know if the gun was actual or not however clearly the method of discovering out isn’t one you wish to discover, in order that was an attention-grabbing time.

“They took my watch and my pockets however all I had was 80 rand, which was about £4 on the time.

Lucky escape

“My manager had done a bit of shopping in the mall and they took that, his wallet, phone, watch. I was hiding my phone, so I was lucky to just lose the watch, but yeah, that was a different kind of experience.”

Hatton is in good kind forward of The Masters following a T4 end at Bay Hill and a runner-up end on the Players Championship.

The 31-year-old is now a longtime star participant with seven wins worldwide. He is prone to be a star when Europe host the United States within the Ryder Cup in September.
