After enduring a troublesome begin to the 2023 Walker Cup at St. Andrews, Team USA wants to mount a mighty cost on Sunday if they need to retain the Walker Cup.

While the U.S. has gained the final three editions of the Walker Cup, their adversaries from Great Britain & Ireland have claimed the early higher hand so far with a three-point lead, 7.5 to 4.5.

It all began with a troublesome morning foursomes session through which Great Britain & Ireland took cost in some tight matches to win three of the first 4 obtainable factors. The momentum continued in GB&I’s favor in the eight Saturday afternoon singles matches, through which GB&I gained 4.5 of the eight obtainable factors. (In Walker Cup match play, one level is given for a win and a half-point is awarded for a tie —gamers don’t go further holes).

On Sunday, there are 14 factors up for grabs: 4 in the morning foursomes matches and 10 in the afternoon singles matches. Team USA wants to win 8.5 of these factors so as to retain the Walker Cup with 13 factors, whereas GB&I wants to win 5.5 factors to reclaim it with 13.5 factors.

With the wind anticipated to decide up on Sunday at the Old Course, it’s certain to be a dramatic and entertaining spectacle. Here’s how one can watch the action unfold.
