“I am not someone to walk away from adversity” – Temba Bavuma

Proteas captain Temba Bavuma says he by no means thought of stepping down as skipper forward of the World Cup semi-final towards Australia.

His workforce finally misplaced to Australia by three wickets in Kolkata on Thursday.

Australia went on to beat India to be topped six time world champions on Sunday afternoon

Bavuma got here beneath criticism after he was dismissed for a duck within the semi-final.

Speaking on the OR Tambo International Airport, admitted he was not at his greatest on the Cricket World Cup

Bavuma not stepping down as captain

“I am there as a captain and a batter and I have always tried to separate the two. I don’t know what the method is used to judge someone who is captaining well,” Bavuma stated as per TimesLive

“We won the most games in the group stages of any South African team. We have beaten teams that we have not beaten in a while at the World Cup, so what method are we going to use whether the guy has been or not doing his job as captain?”

Bavuma scored solely scored 145 runs in eight innings in India and averaged 18 with the bat.

“For me to step down in a World Cup semifinal, that thought is unusual. I am not someone who’s going to walk away from adversity, I am not someone who’s going to reply to calls from folks shouting on Twitter or Facebook. Decisions I make will all the time be for the betterment of the workforce.

“These are the bunch of guys who we have been together since 2020. We know each other through and through, and we know what we play for. I am not the guy who is on Twitter or Facebook,”  Bavuma stated.
