IPL back on South African screens thanks to last-minute deal

SuperSport have responded to an awesome outcry in opposition to the lack of TV rights for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) by securing a final minute deal.

Lovers of the IPL in South Africa will now have the option to watch all 74 matches dwell on SuperSport.

With 17 South African gamers set to compete in what has turn out to be a staple of the cricket calendar, the choice to let the rights go brought on some consternation.

However, SuperSport and DStv introduced {that a} deal had been executed on Friday 31 March simply hours earlier than the opening fixture.

“Following updated conversations with the rights holder, DStv can confirm that all Indian Premier League matches in 2023 will be broadcast on SuperSport,” learn an announcement from DStv.

“Your World of Champions SuperSport reached a commercial agreement with the rights holders to broadcast the IPL, starting today.”

The complete shebang

The entirety of the 2023 IPL shall be dwell on SuperSport, so subscribers can monitor their favorite gamers and groups 

“All 74 matches of the 16th tournament will be broadcast live,” DStv declared.

SuperSport have broadcast each single match within the IPL and that streak will now proceed.

“We are very happy to have reached an agreement to continue our partnership with the IPL that extends back to the inaugural event in 2008,” stated Marc Jury, chief government of SuperSport.”

The opening fixture, between the Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings, shall be broadcast dwell on DStv channel 212 from 16:00.
