Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla thinks that White is All-Star caliber, as he defined final week.
“He’s an All-Star,” Mazzulla stated. “(He’s playing with) freedom, confidence, and empowerment from his teammates. A lot of the times when we want to settle the team down and we want to get to really good execution, we go to Derrick White pick and rolls. …”
The 29-year-old was requested about his coach’s endorsement after the Christmas win over the Lakers and was as humble as ever in response.
“He’s my coach, that’s what he’s supposed to say, right?” White advised reporters in LA. “I’m just trying to win games. That’s what I’m focusing on right now. Just do whatever I can to help us win.”
Helping the C’s win is actually one thing he can, for the reason that crew are 22-4 when he performs.
