Jakobsen powers to dominant win in stage 2 of Tour de Hongrie

Fabio Jakobsen produced an unbelievable kick to win stage 2 of the Tour de Hongrie Thursday afternoon.

The European Champion got here out of nowhere in the final 200 meters earlier than abandoning all the opposite sprinters for his third victory of the season.

A winner of two phases at his earlier participation right here, Fabio Jakobsen remained hidden on the ending straight, making his transfer down the center of the highway solely with the road in sight. Three bike lengths separated him from Phil Bauhaus and Vito Braet.

“We controlled the stage with Tim and then with Fausto, before Casper and Yves picked up for the last kilometers”, stated Jakobsen.

“There was a small uphill part there and we had a great positioning until the rest of the peloton came and closed us in. Then I found myself a bit far and had to search for a gap, which I managed to find”.
