Joao Almeida climbed to fifth within the common classification of the Tour de France after stage 11, whereas his teammate Tadej Pogacar stays the chief of the race.
“It could have been better, but it was a good day,” mentioned the Portuguese rider after the stage.
“I think they [Visma] came at the Tour as underdogs, but we knew he [Vingegaard] was very good. I can’t say more, because you see that Jonas is flying. I think his descents are pretty good. Maybe he’s not the best descender, but he’s doing quite well. That shows that he has overcome the crash.”
“We wanted to attack and make a difference, the team did a great job so we will definitely try again,” mentioned Almeida. “Pogacar took time on almost everyone, that’s the most important thing.”
