The WBA junior welterweight title was at stake Saturday evening in Los Angeles as champion Isaac Cruz slipped in between the ropes to tackle Jose Valenzuela in a scheduled 12 rounder. The bout was the co-main occasion of the Terence Crawford-Israil Madrimov pay per view card. Cruz, as is his behavior, charged in on his man on the sound of the opening bell. Southpaw Valenzuela, alternatively, snapped out his southpaw jab. It was a quick paced opening three minutes.
The second was quick paced, as nicely. It can be fascinating to see how the struggle would play out after it started to decelerate. With that being mentioned, the third, just like the earlier two rounds, was a blistering affair. Things remained shut within the fourth. The fifth was very exhausting to attain. Cruz landed the tougher photographs, however the Valenzuela jab was working very nicely and maintaining the challenger from getting damage. The sixth had some thrilling moments because the fighters took turns tagging one another.
Each man had his moments within the seventh. A low blow from Cruz paused the motion within the eighth. It was one other quick paced spherical, although, one the place Valenzuela appeared to have edged it. Indeed, Valenzuela seemed to be edging issues within the tenth.
