Kelly Oubre Jr.’s Accident Under Internal Police Investigation

Kelly Oubre Jr. caused a car accident earlier within the week and now there was an inner police investigation launched because of suspicious circumstances, TMZ reports.

Oubre ran a pink gentle in Philadelphia on Monday night time following the Sixers’ Game 2 loss to the Knicks.

The 28-year-old hit a 2023 Hyundai Elantra with the purple Lamborghini he was driving and each vehicles needed to be towed from the scene.

Luckily, nobody was injured, however the police that attended the scene may have to supply some solutions.

“TMZ Sports has learned — the PPD’s Internal Affairs Division is looking into the handling of Monday night’s crash involving Oubre and another driver … specifically officers’ response and actions while at the scene.”

“…Despite law enforcement saying Oubre committed a traffic violation, he was not issued a ticket … nor was he given a breathalyzer or blood test to determine if alcohol or drugs played a factor.”

The outlet went on to conclude that it looks as if “PPD is now trying to figure out whether Oubre received any special treatment at the scene … due to his status as a prominent professional athlete in the area.”

Despite the crash, Oubre performed in Game 3 of the first-round playoff sequence in opposition to the Knicks and spoke concerning the accident afterwards.

“Everything is good,” Oubre advised reporters Thursday night time. “I’m OK. The people that were involved are OK. I need to probably get a driver or something and just stay off the roads, (not) be behind the wheel. But everything is good. I still was able to do my job, support my family, and things are good.”

It is perhaps smart for Oubre to remain off the roads at this level, contemplating it’s his second accident since he signed with Philly.
