After Kyrie Irving’s Mavericks misplaced to James Harden’s new Clippers staff, Kyrie mentioned his time in Brooklyn with Harden and Kevin Durant.
Dallas misplaced 107-88 to a much-improved Clippers outfit on Saturday and naturally, a Irving-Harden matchup prompted reporters to ask about what might have been on the Nets.
“We could sit here and play to what-if scenarios all day, bro,” Irving responded to a query from the Dallas Morning News, in a clip posted on X by Tomer Azarly. “But for me, even when James got here to Brooklyn — and plenty of my friends, and plenty of my teammates I’ve performed with — I’ve all the time instructed them that ‘This is bigger than just us being teammates right now, present moment. You’ve obtained to do what’s finest for you.’
“And it’s unlucky that me, James and KD are a part of the NBA historical past’s ‘what ifs’ of simply having a superteam, and the expectations on us.
