A US government probe over Andretti F1 and its unsuccessful bid to affix the grid in 2025 and 2026 is now underway by the US justice division. As The South African reported again in May forward of the Miami Grand Prix, the Andretti organisation mentioned it will flip to high US government officers to analyze the choice to bar the group from racing in 2025.
Accordingly, a gaggle of US congressmen and senate members mentioned they might problem Formula 1 and Liberty Media’s determination to lock the American racing entity out of the game within the short-term. US GOVERNMENT PROBE OVER ANDRETTI F1 REJECTION

In an earnings name final week, Liberty Media CEO Greg Maffei confirmed: “That there is a Department of Justice investigation over Andretti F1 now underway.”
“We intend to fully cooperate with that investigation, including any related requests for information,” Maffei is quoted as saying by the New York Times. Maffei reaffirmed that Liberty Media nonetheless believes its determination to reject the Andretti F1-Cadillac bid didn’t violate any relevant US anti-trust legal guidelines. And he says he doesn’t maintain the view that extra groups on the grid would essentially be unsuitable for Formula 1.
“There is a methodology for expansion that requires approval of both the teams, the FIA and F1 itself. And both groups have to find that all the relevant criteria met. We’re certainly open to new entrants making applications and potentially being approved if those requirements are met,” concluded Maffei. – with GMM
