Max Verstappen tightened his grip on the Formula 1 world championship with one other faultless efficiency in Canada.

The Dutch driver’s victory at the Canadian Grand Prix was his forty first in the sport and coincided with a milestone of 100 wins for Red Bull.

THE NEXT FORMULA 1 RACE IS THE AUSTRIAN GRAND PRIX

Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso and Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton occupied the remaining podium positions.

Verstappen’s win elevated his lead in the Formula 1 drivers’ standings to 69 factors, with Red Bull teammate Sergio Perez in second place, in accordance to Sky Sports Formula 1.

Commenting on the one hundredth win milestone, the double world champion stated: “This is our 100th win and it’s an incredible moment for the Team, the hard work doesn’t stop here though, the new target is 200 now!”

“I was always dreaming about being a Formula One driver and I would have never imagined to actually win so many races, so to tie with Ayrton Senna is incredible and I feel really proud of that,” he stated.
