Man United raids rival Man City to hire Omar Berrada as new CEO

Manchester United introduced Omar Berrada as its new CEO on Saturday evening after raiding rival Manchester City in a dramatic assertion of intent.

Man United had been on the lookout for a successor to Richard Arnold, who left the membership in November, and Berrada seems to match the invoice following his success each on and off the sphere with City Football Group.

Berrada has been at Man City for practically a decade, most not too long ago as the chief soccer operations officer.

Britain’s PA information company mentioned it understands that United homeowners Joel and Avram Glazer appointed Berrada in session with Jim Ratcliffe, whose Ineos agency has agreed a deal to purchase up to a 25% stake within the Premier League membership.

Berrada’s begin date along with his new membership shall be revealed in the end by United, who confirmed Patrick Stewart will proceed as interim chief govt in the interim.

“Manchester United is pleased to announce the appointment of Omar Berrada as its new CEO,” United said in a statement. “The club is determined to put football and performance on the pitch back at the heart of everything we do/. Omar’s appointment represents the first step on this journey.”

The assertion on X, previously Twitter, added: “He is currently serving as chief football operations officer for City Football Group overseeing 11 clubs across five continents and, prior to this, held senior roles at Barcelona.

“It is our acknowledged ambition to re-establish Manchester United as a title-winning membership.”
