Match officials named for opener

The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 Match official appointments have been made.

Three match referees and 10 umpires make up a 13-woman officiating staff, an all-female staff for the primary time ever at an ICC occasion.

Anna Harris and Kim Cotton to umpire South Africa vs Sri Lanka

England’s Anna Harris, making her debut at a serious ICC occasion, has been given the honour of umpiring the opening recreation of the match in South Africa.

The 24-year-old shall be joined within the center by skilled New Zealander Kim Cotton when the Proteas face Sri Lanka at Newlands on 10 February.

GS Lakshmi is the match referee, with Eloise Sheridan as TV Umpire and Suzanne Redfern fourth umpire.

At her debut match, Harris may even oversee Bangladesh vs Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka vs Australia and India vs Ireland.

Cotton, who umpired the record-breaking last of the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Melbourne, may even take cost of England vs India, India v Ireland and Australia vs Bangladesh.

Claire Polosak, probably the most skilled of the umpires chosen, shall be on area when England face India, West Indies and Ireland in addition to Pakistan vs Ireland.

South Africa’s Lauren Agenbag, umpiring on residence soil, has 4 group stage appointments that embody the grandstand India vs Pakistan fixture on 12 February.

Jacqueline Williams of the West Indies will be part of Agenbag on the helm when the outdated S collide at Newlands.

Sri Lanka’s Nimali Perera and England’s Sue Redfern shall be in cost when Australia start the defence of their ICC Women’s T20 World Cup title, towards trans-Tasman rivals New Zealand at Boland Park in Paarl on 11 February.

Appointments for the 2 semi-finals and last, going down on 23, 24 and 26 February, haven’t but been made.
