Tim Merlier received stage six of UAE Tour on Saturday, to assure he takes the inexperienced dash jersey in a prime class discipline.
The Belgian rider has been within the combine on all the massive dash phases, and received two of them, whereas his crew chief Remco Evenepoel stays within the general lead with Sunday’s deciding mountain stage nonetheless to come.
“It was another hectic finish today, but I was put into a great position with 500 metres to go and then went for a long sprint,” Merlier stated. “Thankfully I was able to hold on and I am happy to win in the green jersey.”
