Mike Conley on Collision That Caused His Coach’s Nasty Injury

Mike Conley has opened up about his nasty late-game collision along with his head coach, Chris Finch.

Finch suffered a ruptured patella tendon after colliding with Conley, who had been pressured out of bounds by Devin Booker.

“He didn’t want to see me at first, I walked in and he started to run away,” Conely mentioned with a smile. “Nah, he tried to shoo me away a bit of bit.

“I didn’t see him. At first, I used to be simply attempting to push the ball up the ground and Book kinda hip-checked me out of bounds. And once I noticed him (Finch), it was too late. I used to be attempting to seize him to not let him hit his head or one thing. I believe his foot obtained caught, so it was simply dangerous timing.

“I told him to sit his ass down, he shouldn’t be standing up like that… he’s in the way. Prayers up for him, I’m sure he’ll be fine.”

Conley’s teasing of his coach highlights their shut relationship, nevertheless it’s a severe harm for Finch, who needed to be helped off the court docket when the incident occurred with 1:41 left within the sport.

Finch left the sector on a cart and assistant coach Micah Nori took over for the remainder of the sport.
