In a current post-match interview, Mokwena made an attention-grabbing remark about Chiefs, calling them a traditionally fortunate membership.

Some people noticed it as a little bit of an unfair jab at Chiefs who’re identified – or possibly had been identified – as cup kings of native soccer.

But then, in a twist that’s certain to go away just a few eyebrows raised, Mokwena poured extra gasoline onto the fireplace.

He instructed that even the biblical God is a Chiefs supporter. And sure, you learn that proper.

“It is very true, God must be a Kaizer Chiefs supporter,” Mokwena proclaimed, after a relatively prolonged and winding try to justify his unique assertion.

Now, that’s a praise of epic proportions, isn’t it? Imagine somebody saying, “God loves you,” and having the proof to again it up, Mokwena added.

“And there is no greater compliment that could be given. Honestly, I wish someone would say to me ‘my goodness God loves you’, and not only say it but really have the evidence to point to say it’s true,” added Mokwena.

Of course, Chiefs coach, Molefi Ntseki, didn’t simply sit again and let that one slide. He fired again, suggesting that Sundowns have had their fair proportion of luck too.

“We can say the same about any team that is doing well in the league or any cup games,” mentioned Ntseki when requested about Mokwena’s phrases.

“If you can look at Manchester City, there were games where they were very lucky and won games…”

“But a very powerful factor goes into these video games with confidence, perception, religion and clearly luck shall be in your aspect.

“And I feel they (Sundowns) have benefited loads, as a result of when you have a look at the seven years of successful the league, there have been moments once they had been very fortunate, so it is extremely regular.

“The time when Chiefs were winning it was also normal to say things at times that turned out for you,” added Ntseki.

And whether or not it was playful banter, a horrible apology or simply downright disrespect to the Chiefs model, it has definitely added spice forward of this afternoon’s conflict.

It will now be attention-grabbing to see if the footballing gods are certainly on Chiefs’ aspect, or if Sundowns will show their very own luck. Either approach, it’s sure to be an thrilling showdown.
