Nine surprising players to miss the cut

Star PGA TOUR players Justin Thomas and Rory McIlroy will miss the weekend at the Masters after failing to make the midway cut mark.

The pair had been amongst the 31 golfers who left the 2023 Masters match on Saturday.

1. Rory McIlroy

What he shot: 72-77 (+5)

He went from co-favourite to the sofa. Next 12 months it is going to be his tenth time attempting to win the Green Jacket … will he ever win the Grand Slam? At this level, you’d have to say no.

2. Justin Thomas

What he shot: 70-78 (+4)

The 2022 PGA Championship winner will without end be concerned in the storylines of the 2023 Masters. His bogey at 17 allowed Tiger Woods to make the cut. A second bogey in a row meant he’d be sitting out the weekend.

He performed his closing eight in six over.

3. Corey Conners

What he shot: 73-79 (+8)

Last week’s winner ejected at the midway mark.

4. Bryson DeChambeau

What he shot: 74-74 (+4)

He as soon as famously mentioned the par 5s at Augusta had been really easy the course performs as a par 67. That makes him properly, properly over par.

5. Tom Hoge

What he shot: 74-74 (+4)

6. Kurt Kitayama

What he shot: 75-77 (+8)

7. Min Woo Lee

What he shot: 75-75 (+6)

An in-form participant who has taken main strides in his sport. He completed T14 at Augusta final 12 months to begin this week with large expectations.

8. Sergio Garcia

What he shot: 74-77 (+7)

The 2017 Masters champion truly solely made the cut for the first time since his dramatic win in 2022.  He had the weekend off for three-straight years (he missed the 2020 Masters with COVID) from 2018 to 2021.

9. Louis Oosthuizen

What he shot: WD

Another 12 months that has seen Louis finish his Masters run early with a withdrawal. This is probably going his final ever look at The Masters.
