Parnell, Shamsi added to Proteas ODI squad as Mulder, Maharaj ruled out



Wayne Parnell and Tabraiz Shamsi have been added to the Proteas ODI squad for the three-match sequence in opposition to the West Indies, beginning on Thursday.

Parnell replaces all-rounder Wiaan Mulder within the squad, whereas Shamsi is available in for Keshav Maharaj, who can be injured.

Mulder picked up a grade one facet pressure through the current second Test in opposition to the West Indies on the Wanderers, whereas Maharaj harm his Achilles through the match.

Rob Walter’s first sequence

South Africa go into the ODI sequence having received the 2 Test matches between the groups at SuperSport Park and the Wanderers respectively.

This would be the first sequence of latest coach Rob Walter’s tenure as Proteas white-ball coach. The Proteas may even face the West Indies in three T20s after the ODI sequence.

Temba Bavuma, contemporary off scoring his second Test century, a powerful 172 within the second Test on the Wanderers, will lead the ODI facet, whereas Aiden Markram, who was named participant of the sequence within the Tests, will likely be in command of the T20 group.

The squad for the primary and second ODIs will assemble in East London on Monday.
