The Proteas have been dealt a large blow with the surprising announcement of the 32-year-old Klaasen’s retirement from red-ball cricket.

Klaasen, who made his Test debut in India in 2019 and went on to signify the nation in Australia and twice performed towards the West Indies final summer season, was missed for chosen for the latest Test sequence towards India.
Klaasen scored 104 Test runs for the Proteas at a mean of 13.00, whereas taking 10 catches and two stumpings.
