The Charlotte Hornets have reached a contract settlement with R.J. Hampton, per Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report. The actual particulars of the deal are but to be introduced.

Hampton ended the second-half of his 2022-23 season with the Detroit Pistons. His non-guaranteed $1.9MM wage for subsequent season wasn’t picked up by the membership, thus making him a free agent.

Picked by the Milwaukee Bucks for the twenty fourth choice of the 2020 Draft, Hampton was instantly dealt to the Denver Nuggets in his rookie 12 months. He then went on to play his subsequent three seasons with the Orlando Magic, tallying averages of 8.0 factors, 3.1 boards and a pair of.3 assists for 116 common season matches.

The addition of the 22-year-old additional provides backcourt depth for Charlotte as they have already got LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller and the newly-signed Frank Ntilkina.
