Red Bull fires de Vries, replaces him with Daniel Ricciardo 

AlphaTauri have confirmed that Daniel Ricciardo would change Nyck de Vries on the group forward of the Hungarian Grand Prix.

AlphaTauri is Red Bull’s sister group and Ricciardo is on mortgage till the remainder of the season.

According to stories, Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko was not blissful with de Vries’s efficiency after the Dutchman failed to complete within the high 10 in all his races thus far this season.

“We have to look to the future, but we are evaluating his performance and if necessary, decisions will be made,” Marko mentioned just a few months in the past.

Ricciardo again on the grid

This week, it was introduced that the 28-year-old driver, who’s in his first full F1 season, was given the purple card by Red Bull. Team Principal Christian Horner says he’s wanting ahead to seeing Ricciardo race after the Australian lapped for the group at a Silverstone Pirelli check on Tuesday.

“It was great to see Daniel hasn’t lost any form while away from racing,” mentioned Horner.

“His times during the tyre test were extremely competitive. It was a very impressive drive and we are excited to see what the rest of the season brings for Daniel on loan at Scuderia AlphaTauri.”

AlphaTauri Team Principal Franz Tost mentioned his group would “profit” from Ricciardo’s expertise, after a troublesome begin to the season.

“I’m very pleased to welcome Daniel back into the team,” mentioned Tost on F1 web page. “There’s little question about his driving abilities, and he already is aware of many people, so his integration will probably be simple and straight ahead.

“The team will also profit a lot from his experience, as he is an eight-time Formula 1 Grand Prix winner. I would like to thank Nyck for his valuable contribution during his time with Scuderia AlphaTauri and I wish him all the best for the future.”
