Remco Evenepoel to “take it day by day” at Tour de Suisse

Soudal Quick-Step has introduced the workforce round Remco Evenepoel for the upcoming Tour de Suisse (11-18 June).

The world champion would be the chief of the Belgian workforce for the final classification, whereas for the sprints, Tim Merlier will take the lead.

Soudal Quick-Step is heading to the Tour de Suisse with a robust workforce, with Kasper Asgreen, Mauro Schmid, Mattia Cattaneo, James Knox and Bert Van Lerberghe current alongside their leaders.

“We have Remco back on the team and we are looking forward to it. The two individual time trials suit him, but also guys like Kasper, Mauro and Mattia can do something nice on those stages,” mentioned sports activities director Geert Van Bondt.

“As Remco returns after illness, we’ll just take it day by day and see what he can do in the mountains, where he’ll also have James to help him, in addition to the other guys. For the flat stages, our man is Tim, who can count on Bert to guide him, so we’re confident in our chances of getting some good results.”
