Sainz narrowly bought the higher of the Red Bull driver and teammate Charles Leclerc and will look to capitalise on Ferrari’s revival.
“Tomorrow I’m going to give it everything to hold onto that P1. A good start, a good first stint and see if we can battle Max. I’m going to give it all,” Sainz.

“I’m happy to be second today. Of course tomorrow we will try to win the race,” Verstappen stated after the qualifying.
Sainz’s teammate Leclerc will search for an excellent begin to deny Red Bull’s 14th successive win of the season.
