Springbok pledges future to French club with new big-money deal

On Wednesday it was confirmed that skilled Springbok wing, Dillyn Leyds, will stay a La Rochelle participant for one more three years.

LEYDS COMMITS TO LA ROCHELLE

Dillyn Leyds has signed a new three-year deal that can see him stay on the Stade Marcel-Deflandre till the tip of the 2026 season.

Capable of taking part in wing, fullback or in midfield, the 10-cap Springbok has scored 26 tries in 78 appearances for the Yellow and Black since becoming a member of from the Stormers in 2020.

The 31-year-old performed a key position, alongside with fellow Bok Raymond Rhule, for Ronan O’Gara’s males in profitable back-to-back Champions Cup titles (2021-22, 2022-23).

WHAT THE SPRINGBOK HAD TO SAY

“I am very happy to continue my adventure within this extraordinary club. A club that became my family, far from home, and a city that made me feel like one of its own,” Leyds advised La Rochelle’s official web site.

“Thank you to the supporters for always supporting me, for always supporting us. It’s always special for me to play at Deflandre in front of our passionate supporters,” the Springbok added.

You have already given me unbelievable recollections and I hope that collectively we will proceed to create extra.

“I am honoured to play at Stade Rochelais for three more seasons!”
