Springboks back to boost local URC teams

The local franchises will probably be strengthened by the return of their Springboks in time for spherical 9 of United Rugby Championship (URC) motion following the completion of South Africa’s four-Test end-of-year tour to Europe.

The Bulls hammered the Ospreys 43-26 at Loftus in Pretoria, the Lions edged the Dragons 33-25 at Ellis Park in Johannesburg, and the Stormers simply beat the Scarlets 36-19 at Cape Town Stadium, whereas the Sharks misplaced 35-0 to Cardiff at Kings Park in Durban.

The South African teams will now welcome back their Test stars in time for spherical 9 URC fixtures, which may even be towards the 4 Welsh areas.

The Sharks host the Ospreys on Friday. On Saturday, the Stormers play towards the Dragons and the Bulls welcome Cardiff. In the one URC fixture on Sunday, the Lions are at house towards the Scarlets.

Here is an inventory of Springboks will return to which franchises:

Bulls — Marco van Staden, Kurt-Lee Arendse, Johan Goosen, Canan Moodie, Sbu Nkosi.

Sharks — Thomas du Toit, Ox Nche, Ntuthuko Mchunu, Bongi Mbonambi, Eben Etzebeth, Siya Kolisi, Jaden Hendrikse, Grant Williams, Makazole Mapimpi.

Stormers — Steven Kitshoff, Frans Malherbe, Salmaan Moerat, Marvin Orie, Evan Roos, Deon Fourie, Damian Willemse, Manie Libbok, Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu.

The remaining 16 Springbok squad members not listed above, ply their commerce at abroad golf equipment, primarily in England, France and Japan.
