Stormers await X-rays but fear the worst after star’s injury

The Stormers are prone to lose the providers of thrilling younger utility again Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu for subsequent weekend’s URC remaining towards Munster.

Feinberg-Mngomezulu appears to have been shelved after struggling a suspected damaged hand in the Western Province Currie Cup win over the Pumas in Athlone on Friday.

After the sport, John Dobson, the coach of each Western Province and the Stormers, instructed reporters that Feinberg-Mngomezulu might have suffered a damaged hand throughout the 22-14 win.

“It doesn’t look very good, his hand, I think he has gone for X-rays now,” Dobson stated in keeping with Rugby365.

“It might be a fracture … he was probably going to be involved next week (against Munster) so that’s a bit of a blow.”

In the Stormers’ 43-25 URC semi-final victory over Connacht final weekend, Feinberg-Mngomezulu, who can supply cowl for flyhalf, heart, fullback and even the wings, got here off the bench.

‘He needed to play’

However, Dobson insisted that he had no regrets in beginning the adaptable again on this weekend’s Currie Cup.

The coach felt that the younger participant wanted extra minutes underneath his belt and stated that they wouldn’t beat themselves up over the choice.

“He needed to play, [we’re] not beating ourselves up. He didn’t play much last week, I think it was like six or seven minutes, so we needed to play him.”

When it comes time for the URC remaining, Dobson prompt that Western Province Currie Cup captain Jean-Luc du Plessis or fullback Clayton Blommetjies could supply backup and flexibility.

Feinberg-Mngomezulu began the match towards the Pumas at inside centre.

The victory over the Pumas moved Western Province as much as fourth on the Currie Cup log in Round 11 motion.
