UPDATE: Temba Bavuma suffers hamstring strain – CONFIRMED
Proteas skipper Temba Bavuma was pressured to go away the sphere early on Day 1 of the primary Test towards India at SuperSport Park in Centurion on Tuesday.

Aiden Markram took over as captain following Bavuma’s departure.
Cricket South Africa (CSA) confirmed Bavuma had skilled discomfort in his left hamstring whereas fielding and was despatched for a scan.
A short time later, CSA reported that the scan revealed a left hamstring strain and that the 33-year-old will endure every day medical evaluations to find out his participation within the the rest of the match.

The second and closing Test will happen at Newlands in Cape Ton from 3-7 January 2024.

Earlier, Bavuma received the toss and requested Indian counterpart Rohit Sharma to bat.
