The 2023 version was the fifteenth Varsity Cup performed for the reason that inaugural tournament in 2008.

There was no tournament in 2020 due to Covid-19.

In the now 15 accomplished season’s to date, Maties and UP Tuks have triumphed on 5 events every, with UCT Ikeys being topped champions twice, as have the NWU Eagles.
