Warriors Rookie Speaks On Viral Wemby Poster, Wemby Responds

Warriors rookie Trayce Jackson-Davis has opened up about his viral dunk on Victor Wembanyama, which occurred throughout Golden State’s 112-102 win over San Antonio on Monday.

Jackson-Davis broke down the play for the media after the sport.

“I saw that he overplayed it and that he overplayed it to my right,” he said. “Obviously, I’m left-handed, so I believe I spun or acquired to my left hand and I had the step on him so, simply attempting him.

“I told Loon (Kevon Looney) before the game that if I got the chance to try him, I would. But at the end of the day, sometimes you dunk on people, sometimes you get dunked on.”

 

Wembanyama, however, was not fazed in any respect by the play.

“Getting dunked on is nothing,” he stated. “It’s part of the game. I dunk on a lot of people and a lot of people dunk on me too. But I think I block more often than I get dunked on, so that’s positive.”

The Spurs have now fallen to 14-51, final within the Western Conference and 4 and a half video games again from Portland, who’re second-last.

The Warriors transfer to 34-30 and sit in tenth place within the Western Conference. They have additionally received 9 of their previous 10 highway video games.
