Aston Martin driver Fernando Alonso beat Sergio Perez to assert third place on the Formula 1 São Paulo Grand Prix by 0.053 seconds. 2023 world champion gained the race forward of McLaren’s Lando Norris.
However, all eyes had been on Alonso and Perez as the 2 Latin drivers headed for a last-lap showdown at Interlagos. In a nail-biting finish to the Grand Prix, Alonso managed to move the Red Bull driver and re-take third place into Turn Four.
The battle for the ultimate podium place culminated in a drag race to the road that was break up by 0.053 seconds.

FERRARI’S CHARLES LECLERC WAS UNABLE TO START THE RACE
There was drama earlier than the lights went out after Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc crashed on the formation lap. The Monegasque driver had certified alongside Verstappen on the entrance row solely to lose hydraulics.

“Then he braked a bit late into Turn One on the ultimate lap, and I stated to myself I might go for it into Turn Four.
